490 LED globe fittings on the main entrance roundabout at Heathrow Airport gently shimmer in blue, white and green, producing a random wave effect. As its on a busy roundabout, the system had to be completely automated, through a control cabinet designed and supplied by Lee Engineering which includes daylight sensors to control the nightly switch on. Programming by Lee Engineering in consultation with Spiers & Major. A similar scheme has recently been completed at Glasgow Airport, with plans for more at other BAA airports around the country.
The system comprises
Approx 490 x Lumisphere LED fittings, 1 x IP65 Control Cabinet, 1 x Artistic Licence low voltage dimmer, 1 x Martin Lightcorder. Programmed using Martin Matrix
